Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land | Blankenhain

Where the green is designed for families

Anyone standing in the inner courtyard of the "Spa und GolfResort Weimarer Land" is surrounded by a real oasis of well-being: A fountain bubbles in the middle, colourful flowers ramble through the beds on the ground, and on either side, you see the sensitively restored half-timbered buildings of the former Krakau manor farm.

The exclusive hotel has a soul. Many historic details such as half-timbered elements, stone floors and the foundations of the old manor farm have been retained and lend a special atmosphere to what is now a holiday resort. Furniture made from valuable old wood, sophisticated fabrics and a total of seven fireplaces complete the feel-good atmosphere.

The four terraces behind the house look out over the softly undulating hills of the 350 hectare, 45-hole golf course. It is particularly important to managing director Matthias Grafe to emphasise that children are just as welcome in the resort as the adults. For families, there is a 140m² kids club in the grounds where they can play and run around to their heart's content, child-friendly golf courses – and there's even a plan for horse riding stables at some point in the future.

EXPERIENCE TIP

Wow, look at this! (Not only) children will be bowled over by the mediaeval Castle Leuchtenburg near Kahla: There is an exciting exhibition on the castle's history, for example, you enter through a huge dragon's head. The "Porcelain Worlds" part is colourful and interactive – it even includes a shadow play theatre.
